The shells of this four-part rock set are made of 7-ply mahogany, a rugged wood type that is often used for instruments due to its warm sound characteristics and excellent resonating qualities. The 30-degree bearing edges of the Catalina Club 2014 shells increase the resonating ability of the mahogany, delivering that unique Gretsch sound.
