Gretsch Drums have breathed new life into their old Renown model. This four-piece RN1-E604-SWP shell set, which consists of a 20-inch bass drum, 10 and 12-inch toms and a 14-inch floor tom, has a classic look thanks to its Satin Walnut finish and Pearl inlays. With the Renown Maple 2014 series, Gretsch have succeeded in combining their own authentic sound and feel with modern technology.

Maple for a warm, deep sound

The shells of the Renown series are made of six plies of North American maple, glued together with a superior technique and finished with an interior Silver Sealer. The result is a full sound with an exceptionally warm low end. The 30-degree bearing edges of the shells enhance the tone even more by increasing the contact between shell and drumhead, allowing the vibrations to add to the sound.

Optimal tom resonance

The RN1-E604-SWP shell set comes with a stand-alone bass drum, which means the toms are mounted by means of stands, enabling all shells to use their full resonating potential. As the toms are suspended from two bolts, minimal shell contact is ensured and the need for additional holes is reduced. The hoops of the toms are die-cast and have a chrome finish. Special T-screws and authentic-looking lugs, meanwhile, add to the overall classic appearance of the shell set.
