General
The Mapex Armory Stage comes with a 10x8 and 12x9-inch hanging toms, a 16x16-inch floor tom and a 22x18-inch bass drum, but the real pull here is the included 14x5.5 Tomahawk Steel snare, already giving you more than most shell-sets will. Each has been wrapped in a Black Dawn finish and, since they have slightly larger diameters than the average kit, this set is built for the depth demanded by straight-up rock.
The Mapex Armory Stage in Black Dawn
The Armory Stage shells come pre-fitted with the SONIClear tension clamp system for streamlined and enhanced tuning, especially when tuning to a lower pitch, making them easier on beginners and a revelation for seasoned drummers. Six layers of birch and maple form the kettles and amount to a 7.2mm thick wall while chrome-plated hardware is mounted on the outer surface. A pair of tom holders has been thrown in which can be easily installed onto a cymbal stand and, due to the smart SONIClear system, allow the toms to hang and resonate freely for a fuller sound. Finally, a full set of floor tom legs also comes included.
