Pearl has decades of experience crafting drum kits, so every now and then they look back on their past designs for inspiration. First introduced in 1973, the highly successful Crystal Beat series of acrylic drum kits has been reintroduced with completely redesigned shell hardware! The Studio shell set consists of a 22 x 16-inch bass drum, a 12 x 8-inch tom and 14 x 13 and 16 x 15-inch floor toms in Ultra Clear.
Durable material
The shells are made of moulded acrylic, meaning they have no seams and no structural weaknesses. With 6mm-thick tom and floor toms and a 7mm-thick bass drum, these shells are highly durable. The modernisation is also apparent in the Opti-Mount tom suspension system that makes minimal contact with the drum shell. Furthermore, the tom and floor toms feature 1.6mm triple flanged hoops that allow for enhanced clarity without sacrificing tone, while the bass drum hoops are made of the same material as the shells, so they don't detract from the overall look.
General characteristics
The floor tom feet feature air chambers that work to prevent vibrations from disappearing into the floor, keeping them contained in the shell instead, while also making sure the drum stays firmly in place. Telescopic spurs keep the bass drum in position and offer a choice between rubber feet or a metal spike. Finally, all shells come with clear drumheads to keep the transparent look consistent.

- This set includes a Virgin bass drum, so the tom must be mounted using a tom holder (not included).
- A snare drum, stands and cymbals are not included.
