General
With the drums from Sonor's SQ1 series, you'll look and sound the part in the studio as well as on stage! During the development of this range, Sonor experimented with various materials to achieve the best possible tone. In the end it was birch that resultedin the best balance of low, mid, and high frequencies. The SQ1-320 3-piece set consists of a virgin 20x16-inch bass drum, a 12x8-inch tom, and a 14x13-inch floor tom. The shells feature a matte GT Black finish.
Innovative Sound Sustainer suspension
Sonor have spent decades researching the best ways to optimise the sound of their drums. These SQ1 sets are all equipped with the revolutionary Sound Sustainer tom suspension system, which was inspired by the automotive industry! The rubber component of the system isolates vibrations in the shell so they aren't passed on to the metal stand, resulting in a long sustain and a pure tone. This system is not only suitable for suspending a tom, but can also be used at the legs of the floor tom.
General characteristics
Sonor took other measures to make this kit sound as good as possible. The shells all feature a 45-degree bearing edge and the birch plies are glued together with Sonor's unique Cross Lamination Tension Free method. Each drumhead can be tuned by means of the Tunesafe system that's integrated into the stylish chrome-plated hardware so the lugs don't come loose, even at very low tension levels.
