General
Sonor's SQ1 series consists of drum shell sets that are versatile enough to be used on stage as well as in the studio. They offer an excellent tonal balance of low, mid, and high frequencies thanks to their all-birch construction. For extra stability and durability, the birch layers of each shell have been glued together using Sonor's unique Cross Lamination Tension Free method. This SQ1-324 shell set consists of a 24x14-inch bass drum, a 13x9-inch tom, and a 16x15-inch floor tom. Each shell has a striking matte GT Black finish, named after the classic Ford GT.
Sound Sustainer: isolated suspension
The fact that Sonor named the colour of the SQ1-324 after a car isn't too surprising, as it's not the only thing in this set that was inspired by cars. Their revolutionary Sound Sustainer tom suspension was also inspired by the automotive industry. It's a system made of rubber and metal components and is designed to isolate vibrations from the shell so they aren't carried through to the stand. This results in a pure, unobstructed resonance and a long, natural sustain. This system can be used on the suspended tom as well as at the legs of a floor tom.
Stylish finish
Sonor have equipped their SQ1 shell sets with attractive chrome-plated hardware. The lugs look good and feature the integrated Tunesafe system that prevents them from coming loose due to vibrations, even at very low tension levels. This system is also applied to the tension rods on the bass drum to maintain an optimal tension level on the Natural Beech rim. Finally, with the 45-degree bearing edge and the Remo drumheads, you can count on a top-notch sound!
