Tama PP32RZS-CHS Starclassic Performer BB Champagne Sparkle

General

For over thirty years Tama has been using birch in the composition of their drum shells. In the Starclassic Performer BB series, they combined the well-known birch with bubinga. This gives the shells the characteristics of both wood types - the birch's powerful attack and the bubinga's emphasised lows. This three-piece shell set consists of a 22 x 16-inch bass drum, a 12 x 8-inch tom and a 16 x 16-inch floor tom in a luxury Champagne Sparkle finish.

Shells

The toms are made up of 4 outer plies of birch with 3 inner plies of bubinga, and are 6 mm thick. The bass drum has 5 plies of birch and 3 plies of bubinga, making it 8 mm thick. All shells have been fitted with Evans drumheads, and thanks to the hardware - such as the StarCast tom mounting system - they resonate freely, due to minimal shell contact. To prevent vibrations from disappearing into the ground, the floor tom is fitted with Air Cushioned legs that have special air chambers. Furthermore, this set comes with a virgin bass drum, which has no tom mounting bracket and therefore no holes drilled into it.

Hardware

The tom and floor tom hoops are die-cast, so they have no structural weak spots, while the bass drum hoops have special claw hooks with a rubber lining that prevents them from damaging the hoops. The tom is fitted with a Quick-Lock tom bracket that makes mounting it a breeze, and all hardware and the shells have been chrome-plated.
