This four-piece Tama shell set is part of the STAR Walnut series, and it consists of a 22-inch bass drum, 10 and 12-inch toms and a 16-inch floor tom in Red Burgundy Walnut. It's a sublime-sounding drum kit that is well-suited for many different types of music.
Tama STAR Walnut 4-piece shell set Red Burgundy Walnut
Drummers who are looking for a new kit and who are familiar with the tonal properties of Tama's maple and bubinga drum kits will be thoroughly impressed by this Walnut set. Walnut provides a spacious sound with a vintage character, while it has the same tonal range as the aforementioned wood types maple and bubinga. The toms have 5mm-thick 6-ply shells, while the bass drum shell is 7 mm thick and is made up of 7 plies. With its deep, dark sound, this Red Burgundy Walnut shell set sounds most like a bubinga kit - a lot of mids and plenty of sub-low frequencies.
Quick-Lock Brackets
The thin walnut shells are easy to transport, which should be a real boon to touring drummers. Furthermore, the toms have a great tuning range and excellent response. The bass drum is also very easy to tune, and if you like to experiment with muffling methods, you'll find it's a very versatile kick drum that is well-suited for many different types of music. The shell set also comes with the Super Resonant Mounting System, which ensures that the toms can resonate freely and independently, while the Quick-Lock Tom Brackets allow you to quickly and easily place your toms and floor tom in the ideal position.
