Many types of wood have been used for the Starclassic series over the years, but this is the first ever hybrid Starclassic shell set, made with a combination of European Birch and American Black Walnut. The tom and floor tom shalls have a 6mm thickness, comprised of four layers of birch, then two layers of walnut on the lacquered interior. The bass drum is a little thicker at 8mm with five layers of birch wrapped around your kick sound. The birch wood focusses your sound and adds attack while the walnut rounds it off with warmth. This 5-piece set is finished in Phantasm Oyster: a brilliant bowling-ball-style, strobing lacquer.

This 5-piece includes a 22 x 16-inch bass drum, a 10 x 7-inch tom, two 12 x 8-inch toms and two floor toms of 14 x 12 and 16 x 14-inches. Two MC69 single tom holders, using the Star-Cast Mounting System, and six floor tom feet are included. Every shell is also fitted with Starclassic lugs, die-cast tensioning edges and Evans drum heads. To complete yout Starcaster kit, a matching snare drum, pelvic stands for the hanging toms, cymbals and hardware are all available separately.
