Floor toms (the largest toms) usually stand on three legs that are attached to the drum's shell. In some cases, however, they are attached to the drum's bottom hoop with a rim mount. These mounting brackets can also be used to attach the floor tom to a drum rack or a sturdy cymbal stand (in which case the rim mount can also be attached to the top hoop). Another possibility that is best suited for smaller floor toms, is to mount the drum to a rack or stand using a standard tom bracket. If you're looking to mount regular toms to a rack or stand, we advise you take a look at our tom suspension category.
