This Vic Firth PAD12H dual practice pad is a bit of a double custard: the best of both worlds! So the left side, with the light grey rubber, is the traditional realistic Vic Firth practice pad feel as you know it. The right side, the dark rubber, is a lot harder and therefore bounces a lot more. This is ideal if you want to practise typical percussion, rudiments or marching. Another plus point, is that this pad allows you to clearly feel and hear the difference between your left and right hand, which may reveal some weaknesses in your technique, for instance. If you turn the practice pad 180 degrees, this is of course the same principle. The practice pad has a 12-inch diameter and a sturdy wooden base, and is easy to take anywhere.
