The Fishman Platinum Stage: Practical & Pristine

The more slimline edition of the Platinum Pr; the Stage is a little more stripped down and compact to make it even more performer-friendly. Wrote the following about Fishman Platinum Stage Analogue Preamp

Ik heb de Fishman gekocht voor een misschien niet zo voor de hand liggende reden, namelijk het aansluiten van een akoestische viool op een live-installatie. In de praktijk blijkt een viool in de popmuziek een lastig instrument om uit te versterken. Ik gebruik hiervoor een klein microfoontje dat op de klankkast is bevestigd. Hier is geen toonregeling voor aanwezig, wel een klein volumeknopje. Via de Fishman Platinum beschik ik nu zelf over voldoende afregelmogelijkheden om de klankkleur naar mijn zin te krijgen, maar nog belangrijker, mijn feedbackprobleem is hiermee ook uit de wereld. Moet er wel bij zeggen dat wij met de band i.h.a. op niet al te grote podia spelen, maar wel vaak voor relatief luidruchtig publiek. Ik geef de voorkeur aan deze oplossing boven een elektrische viool vanwege de klankkleur. De Fishman is lekker klein en kan worden gevoed via de fantoom van de mengtafel. Bijkomend voordeel: kabeltje tussen viool en d.i. is korter en lichter dan tussen viool en mengtafel.
