Like a blue-blooded Frankenstein's monster, the Fender Custom Shop '58 P-Jazz Bass takes the body of a '58 Precision Bass and melds it with a Jazz Bass neck with a '60s U-Back Shape, giving you the best of both royal basses. So, if you love the snug feel of a P-Bass body but can't get enough of the smooth and fast feel of a maple J-Bass neck, then this solid-bodied four-string is your dream made tactile. This one-off, limited edition model comes complete with a Fender Deluxe hardshell case, a strap and a Certificate of Authenticity.

The Chocolate 3-Colour Sunburst paint-job has also been artfully worn in all the right places, giving this bass the fully played-in feel of a well-toured model that's been around for decades already. The solid body has been hewn from two chunks of hand-selected ash and combines with a quarter-sawn maple neck and round-lam veneer maple fretboard, not just to boost the playability but to polish off the articulate and defined acoustic foundation with a tightened bottom-end. The single and very-special hand-wound '62 P-Bass pickup, meanwhile, makes the tasty and fully customised sonic character of the Limited Edition '58 Fender Bass complete - expect warm and satisfying, vintage-flavoured amplified sound backed up by just the right amount of tonal focus.
