Blending some classic throwback elegance with modern playability, the Fender Player II Jazz Bass might come with a few upgrades, but still comes with the same familiar body shape complete with snug contouring in all the right places. The solid alder body also lays down a warm and balanced, powerful foundation, which is fully rounded off by a bolt-on maple neck.
Light and nimble playability is assured by the Modern-C neck profile, which has been given a non-stick coat of satin-gloss to aid smooth passage all the way up to the highest of the twenty medium-jumbo frets. While the maple fretboard has the familiar feel of a 9.5 inch radius, setting up the fret-hand with an immediately trusty grip. The hardware load-out is completed by an improved 5-Screw Vintage-Style 4-Saddle Standard Bridge, which doesn't just support accurate intonation but excellent string-to-body vibrational transfer.
A pair of Player Series Alnico 5 Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups take up the bridge and middle positions and combine forces to spit a broad spectrum of defined bass sounds. Gain full control over the output via the responsive set of two volume pots and single tone pot, and dial in the sound to back up everything from jazz to rock and from funk to indie, all while the full set of Standard Open-Gear machine heads and synthetic bone nut aid smooth and solid tuning stability and help polish off a reliable gigging mate.
