Backed up by an 18V preamp and Tim Shaw-designed pickups, the Fender Troy Sanders Precision Bass harnesses masses of sonic might. This Artist Signature model has been carefully put together according to the wishes of the Mastodon bassist who, after over two decades of experience and eight studio albums, knows exactly what he wants out of his instrument. Here, you're looking at an uber-stable, alder-bodied bass that's equipped with a HiMass Vintage bridge as well as a handy little active/passive toggle switch.
The Troy Sanders Precision Bass: Seventies Charm
Together with the first-rate Silverburst finish, there are various details that lift the aesthetic appeal of the Troy Sander Precision Bass to a higher level, like the slab rosewood fretboard which comes lined with pearloid blocks and touched-up with an 'Emperor of Sand' logo at the twelfth fret. The undeniably old-school vibes don't stop there as Fender have also gone with a custom '70s Precision Bass neck profile and a headstock logo from the same era. Meanwhile, the neck plate is home to a serial number and the Mastodon 'Remission' logo. This Mexican-made model comes complete with a deluxe gig bag.
