Ik had voorheen Ernie Balls, die braken voortdurend (de hoge E vooral). Sinds ik D'Addario gebruik heb ik nooit meer een snaar gebroken. Ze klinken ook niet "te nieuw" (metaalachtig in het hoog) als je ze erop zet en ze gaan redelijk lang mee.

Vindt deze D'addario snaren heerlijk. Ze hebben een heel fijne heldere klank, en breken ook niet snel bij "bending" of met flink heftig gebruik van Floyd Rose trem. Ben zelf wel inmiddels geswitched naar 009 sets ( ook van D'addario ) voor het iets snellere werk, maar ook die zijn erg fijn en blijven lang helder van klank.

Korte review. Dit zijn een van de beste non-coated snaren die er zijn.
Ze klinken geweldig nieuw, maar ook als ze wat ouder zijn blijven ze heerlijk klinken. Ik speel al 23 jaar gitaar en ik heb bijna alle merken wel eens geprobeert. Deze winnen. Ze zitten op al mijn gitaren minus eentje, waar ik de d'Addario NYXL op heb zitten voor de lichte upper-mid boost (ook geweldige snaren).

Toen ik de bijgeleverde snaren van een zelfbouw gitaar verving door deze snaren klonk mijn gitaar een stuk beter. De snaren blijven goed op stemming en klinken helder en warm. Ik denk dat Mark Knopfler dit merk niet voor niets jarenlang gebruikt.

Na het uitproberen van verschillende merken, zijn dit mijn standaardsnaren geworden voor mijn Fender Strat. Ten eerste vind ik ze mooi, helder klinken. Ten tweede zit de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding goed, zeker als je deze set van 3 koopt. De snaren zitten in een luchtdichte verpakking dus je kan ze zeker een lange tijd bewaren zonder vrees op corrosie. Ten derde zijn dit ook de snaren die Frusciante gebruikt(e), wat voor mij als fan een extra overtuiging is.
