General

'How big is the specific ocean?' 'I'm sorry, could you be more pacific?' Not one to pass up on a good internet meme, Charvel took the term Specific Ocean and applied it to their fresh, mint green finish. The Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas 2H FR in Specific Ocean is a chic-looking electric guitar with zebra-coloured Seymour Duncan pickups and a pale maple fretboard. Just below the neck, it has a spoke nut that allows for quick and easy truss rod adjustments, and this player boasts a remarkably versatile sound.

Pro Mod San Dimas 2H FR: a comfortable electric guitar

One of this Charvel's most attractive features is its neck, which boast a compound fretboard radius. That means the fretboard is relatively curved near the headstock, but flattens out as you move towards the alder body, allowing for easy chords as well as effortless leads. The guitar's electronics are note-worthy too. Featuring a push/pull potentiometer, the volume knob is capable of turning the humbucker pickups into single-coils, opening up a range of new sounds. The No-Load tone potentiometer, meanwhile, makes it possible to transmit an uncut guitar signal.

Charvel: the original hot rod guitar

In 1974, Wayne Charvel opened up his own guitar repair shop. When Asian companies started to imitate his products, however, he decided to build his own guitars. Charvel guitars usually feature an ST-style body with a humbucker and a tremolo; these so-called Superstrats are incredibly popular among rock and metal fans. Today, Charvel is still known for their remarkable finishes, quick maple necks and other innovations. Since the company was taken over by the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, it offers models in various price ranges.
