Charvel's Pro Mod series builds on the years-long tradition of transforming ST-style guitars into genuine shred machines. Just like the custom Superstrats from the '80s, this SD1FR offers optimal playing comfort, plenty of power and great tuning stability. With its Silver Sparkle finish, the Charvel Limited Run Super Stock SD1 FR was made to shimmer on stage and light up your performance with its presence. Its black anodised aluminium pickguard as well as its chrome-plated volume control and pickup switch provide a beautiful finishing touch.
Construction
As is standard on a guitar from the Pro Mod series, this Charvel features a classic ST-style alder body, a delightfully comfortable maple neck, high-output humbuckers and a specialised bridge. The neck offers immense playing comfort along its entire length thanks to the compound radius rosewood fretboard. The pickup configuration comprises the already classic combination of a Seymour Duncan JB4 in the bridge position and a '59 at the neck. The Floyd Rose Double Locking Tremolo ensures great tuning stability.
Charvel
Back in the '70s, Wayne Charvel heeded the call for guitars with a comfortable Start-style body that are better equipped to handle the rough stuff. Thankfully, Wayne fitted the ST-style bodies with high-output humbuckers, more slender necks and tremolo bridges that could better handle some properly rugged guitar playing. And thus, the Superstrat was born. Eventually, Charvel guitars was taken under Fender's wing and they now get to issue the high-quality Charvel Superstrats - completing the circle.
