General
Eastwood breathes new life into some of the craziest guitar models from the fifties and sixties. This white Airline '59 3P DLX is based on the eccentrically styled 1959 VALCO Airline. Eastwood has improved the design by using first-class materials and components instead of fiberglass, turning their Airline '59 3P DLX into a versatile stage beast that transcends the original vintage Res-O-Glass models at an exceptionally musician-friendly price.
Airline '59 3P DLX: modern version of a classic guitar
This modern version of the Airline has a partially hollow mahogany body that gives it a great resonance with rich, defined mids. The bolt-on neck is made of maple and features a 20-fret rosewood fretboard. The 3P version of the Airline is equipped with three pickups. There's an Alnico Hot 10 humbucker in the mid position, and an Airline Vintage Voiced single-coil in both the neck and bridge position. Each pickup has its own tone and volume control, allowing you to create a whole range of warm or twangy sounds when combining it with the 5-way pickup switch.
Hardware and special features
The Eastwood Airline '59 3P DLX features an adjustable Tune-O-Matic bridge with roller saddles. Combined with the Bigsby tremolo, this bridge allows you to create wild vibrato effects without jeopardising the guitar's tuning. The Airline model is characterised by its unique angular design and tapered body edges. This '59 version additionally features rubber body bindings, a vintage-style pinstriped pickguard, a metal Tone Switch plate for the 5-way pickup switch and a Deluxe Airline case.
