After the success of the Les Paul Goldtop, Gibson wanted to convince their fans that the solid-body electric guitar was nothing short of a superior instrument. To do this, Les Paul himself had black-and-white LP guitars fitted with gold-coloured hardware so it would match a tuxedo! That resulted in the Les Paul Custom, which Les Paul often played on TV with his wife Mary Ford, and posed with on various album covers. To make the wonderful LP Custom experience accessible to all, Epiphone, which is owned by Gibson, offers the Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO!
Les Paul Custom PRO: dressed to kill!
This guitar is a genuine Les Paul. Its mahogany body and neck produce a solid, defined tone and the maple veneer top adds a touch of sparkle while the rosewood fretboard adds some creamy warmth to the overall tone. For optimal sound and tuning stability, this Les Paul PRO boasts a LockTone TOM bridge and stopbar and a Graphtech NuBone string nut. For amplification, there are two ProBucker humbucking pickups that can be split to single-coil and pulled out of phase for a whole range of tonal possibilities.
