While it's still a loving ode to the Gibson original, the Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy comes dripping with a character all of its own making. This upstart of a single-cut guitar comes loaded with ultra-modern tweaks and fully primed for heavy work. The most striking update is the pair of active Fishman Fluence humbuckers. These don't just deliver high-gain humbucker sound, but by toggling the push-pull tone pot, you're essentially engaging the full and mighty tone of a vintage PAF-style pickup, then, by popping the volume pots, you split both humbuckers for a hum-free single-coil sound. The versatility of the electronics section of the Prophecy is actually nothing short of astounding.

Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy Red Tiger Aged Gloss Electric Guitar

Deze gitaar een week geleden aangeschaft en ik ben er zo ver ontzettend blij mee! Er komt een goed geluid uit, hij speelt fantastisch en ziet er ook nog eens mooi uit. Een van de enige nadelen is dat de brug niet helemaal goed afgesteld was na aanschaffing, dit is zelf makkelijk op te lossen met een schroevendraaier. Ook de locking tuners waren niet gebruikt zoals ze bedoeld zijn, de snaar zat om het pinnetje heen gebonden terwijl dit systeem er juist voor zorgt dat dit niet hoeft. Dit zijn allebei problemen die zelf makkelijk op te lossen zijn en en dus zeker geen dealbreaker. De brug zit wat verder op de gitaar vergeleken met andere Les Paul modellen, dit is vooral even wennen. Over het algemeen is deze gitaar het voor mij helemaal waard.
