The Epiphone SG Special Satin E1 offers a faster and more affordable route to that unmistakable SG sound and style. Next to the Les Paul, this horned, double-cut guitar is one of the most iconic models in the known universe. And while bearing a brutal look, those cutaways have a practical function, since they ease access to the highest of the 22 medium jumbo frets, while the SlimTaper-D neck profile provides plenty of playing comfort. Guitar monster alumni including Angus Young (ACDC), Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) and Jack Black (Tenacious D) agree - the SG is built to rock!
The SG Special Satin E1: A Solid Rock Axe
All of the ingredients needed to cook up that unmistakable Epiphone SG sound have been thrown in. So you get a lightweight and manageable mahogany body and neck mounted with a passive 700T humbucker at the bridge and a 650R humbucker at the neck. This thick and juicy combo delivers a warm, rich, and defined tone that can be varied using the fitted three-way selector switch and set of volume and tone pots. In terms of hardware, the Special Satin E1 has been treated to a stable LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and tailpiece, and a set of Premium, 14:1 ratio machine heads.

clean klinken de pickups (keramisch) goed maar met distortion is het echt niet te doen ; heb ze gigantisch moeten verlagen om een iet of wat acceptabel geluid uit te krijgen en dan nog is het totaal niet naar mijn zin ; dus die worden ook vervangen.
het gewicht is ook best aangenaam , geen zware mahonie stronk rond je nek , schat een 3 kg +/-.
kortom ; dit is een prima gitaar maar houd er rekening mee dat je gewoon een goede basis gitaar koopt en dat je toch een 2-300 euro extra moet uitgeven om er echt een gigantisch goede sg van te maken ( naar mijn mening ) service was geweldig van baxshop , supersnel geleverd .

Voor mij gaf de warme klankleur en de afwerking die subtiel en zonder overbodige poespas de doorslag.
Ook mijn gitaarleraar was onder de indruk van het geluid van het instrument.
Voor mij voelt het spelen goed en pak er dagelijks naar maar ik heb dan ook geen enkele tegenreferentie.
