General

Following up the Special Range, EVH and Wolfgang van Halen take the next step up with the Signature SA-126 Standard. Just like the OG Signature SA-125, this one-off model is like a mash up between an electric guitar and a semi-acoustic. The nyatoh body has been hollowed out and furnished with a feedback-countering centre block, while the maple top has been finished with masked-off natural maple binding, combining with the high-gloss urethane lacquer paint-job to complete a clean and understated yet undeniably stylish look.

The EVH SA-126 Standard: Take a Bow

The bolt-on neck has been hewn from super-stable baked maple, which has been graphite reinforced for good measure and given an EVH Modified C Backshape carve, leaving nothing in the way of virtuoso-grade riff and lead work. The rosewood fretboard has been decked out with a more subtle set of Single Block position markers and twenty-two jumbo frets, and boasts a compound radius that progresses from a flat 12 inches at the headstock to a flatter 16 inches at the body. All of this supports controlled chord-grabbing lower down the neck and light note tapping further up while, as always, the neck relief is easily tweaked and adjusted via the handy spoke wheel accessed at the base of the fretboard.

The voice of this semi-hollow six-string is the result of a collaboration with pickup legend, Tim Shaw, so whether you're in need of crystalline cleans, perfectly spiced drives or some hefty, overheated distortions, the two exclusive EVH SA-126 humbuckers have you fully covered. Explore the entire sonic spectrum laid out by this pickup loadout via the three-way switch and volume and tone pots. Polished off in masterful style with an EVH T.O.M. bridge, a matching tailpiece and a set of keystone machine heads, this model also assures you of solid tuning and precise intonation.
