True Van Halen fans will immediately recognise it, Eddie Van Halen's Circles guitar. The famous instrument used when recording the album Fair Warning. This EVH version is a replica of the original, but is also, like the other eye-catching models, part of the popular Striped Series. Of course, the EVH Striped Series Circles is armed with the powerful Wolfgang humbucker and the super-stable Floyd Rose tremolo system with D-Tuna.
EVH Striped Series Circles: Unchained
The Strat-style body of the EVH Striped Series Circles is made of basswood, for light weight and a clean, defined tone. Furthermore, this ripping iron has a neck and fingerboard made of maple, which gives it a nice bite in the high end. For a quick and satiny feel, the neck received a hand-rubbed oil finish. The fingerboard's concave radius runs from 12 inches at the nut to 16 inches at the body. This compound radius allows for comfortable chords at low positions and trouble-free bends at higher frets.
Wolfgang humbucker & Floyd Rose double locking tremolo
The electronics of the EVH Striped Series Circles are simple but effective. A high-output EVH Wolfgang humbucker element in the bridge position for the rougher stuff and a volume control. The bridge is a Floyd Rose double locking tremolo that, thanks in part to the locking nut, lets you make those typical Eddie dives without detuning a single note. The D-Tuna lets you re-tune the E string to a D in one hand movement, for that well-known Drop D tuning.
