General
The EVH Wolfgang Special is great news for anyone who can't afford a USA Wolfgang. This Eddie Van Halen signature model looks nearly identical to the American models, but is available for a much more budget-friendly price. The Mexican guitar has a gorgeous arched top made of flamed maple with a Tobacco Sunburst finish. Other characteristic features are the maple neck with spoke wheel truss rod at the neck pickup, the black hardware and the two zebra-coloured EVH Wolfgang humbucker pickups.
EVH Wolfgang Special: a tight tone
The elegantly shaped, asymmetrical body of the EVH Wolfgang Special is made of basswood, ensuring a comfortably low weight and a balanced tone, and fitted with an arched top with a beautiful flamed maple finish. The quartersawn neck has been fashioned from maple for increased stability, and the maple fingerboard - fitted with 22 jumbo frets - produces a clear, tight sound. Thanks to the 12 to 16-inch compound radius, you can comfortably play chords in the lower positions and effortlessly bend strings higher up.
Floyd Rose tremolo and Wolfgang humbuckers
The EVH Wolfgang Special is equipped with a Floyd Rose double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut, which allow for the most outrageous vibrato effects and dive bombs without detuning your instrument. An EVH D-Tuna system enables you to tune the guitar to Drop D with a single hand movement. Last but not least, the EVH Wolfgang humbuckers of the Wolfgang Special are able to produce a massive amount of overdrive and sustain, but can also offer a nice clean tone once you turn the volume down.
