First made famous by its creator, Eddie van Halen, the EVH Wolfgang Special was originally built for live work and has been tearing up the stage ever since. This modern classic still bears its own singular style, boasts unrivalled playing comfort and brings a full buffet of amplified sound. This is the TOM edition, so the tremolo bridge has been replaced with the super-stable combo of a Fully Adjustable Compensated Bridge and Fine Tuner tailpiece, so you're not only getting the solid tuning of a fixed bridge but the ability to accurately fine-tune things via the thumb-wheels mounted onto the tailpiece. As always, the spoke wheel is easily accessed at the base of the fretboard and supports effortless truss rod adjustments.

The EVH Wolfgang Special TOM: A Different Kind of Truth

The unique offset WG body has been built from lighter linden wood and bound to the neck via a four-screw joint. The neck itself has been hewn from quartersawn maple before being 'baked' in EVH's oven to remove excess moisture and give the stability a massive boost, while the satin-gloss backside and compound 12 inch to 16 inch fretboard radius guarantees a controlled grip all way from the headstock to the body, whether you're pulling bends or grabbing chords, and the addition of a full set of jumbo frets lightens the load on the fret-hand. Two Direct Mount EVH Wolfgang humbuckers spoon out some dynamic and tight Alnico II tone, backing it all up with plenty of sustain, while the Bourns 500K low-friction volume pot features treble-bleed, assuring you of fast and supple treble response in any position, and the 250K Bourns high friction tone pot removes the chance of any sudden tonal shifts.
