General

Everyone's taste is different, but let's face it, the Olympic White Strat with maple fretboard, made popular by legends Jimi and Yngwie, really is something special. This particular American Special Stratocaster even has the oversized head characteristic of the Strats from the '70s. This gem has also been outfitted with some modern additions. Thanks to the broad string nut, you can add all the vibrato you want without worrying about strings slipping off or breaking. For optimal playing comfort, the back of the neck is finished with a satin gloss, which keeps it smooth. To sum up, this Fender is all about traditional look combined with American quality for a reasonable price!

American Special Stratocaster: Texas Special and Greasebucket tone circuit

One of the things that sets the Stratocaster apart is its versatility. Virtually anything is possible thanks to the three Fender Custom Shop pickups. These single coils have a powerful Alnico 5 magnet with a clear mid range, and sparkling high and tight bass tones. Besides genres like blues, you can also use this Strat for heavy rock, due to the extra output provided by the overwound coils. If you like a lot of gain, but want to maintain a warm tone, then the Greasebucket circuit is ideal - it filters out the high tones while keeping the gain consistent.
