The American Standard Stratocaster is Fender's latest version of their good old classic. This electric guitar fully embodies the legendary Strat sound and is still a beauty to see, hear and feel. It has the looks and sound of the original but has several modern modifications that make it even more comfortable to play and help it retain its tuning. This Strat has a single-piece maple neck that makes it sound a little clearer than the rosewood version. Its alder body has one of Fender's most popular colours: Olympic White. The American Standard Stratocaster comes with a rugged case, as well as an instrument cable, guitar strap and polishing cloth.

American Standard Stratocaster: modern improvements

The Strat has been virtually unaltered since its introduction in 1954, but Fender have remained up-to-date, providing the neck of the American Standard Stratocaster with 22 medium jumbo frets, a two-way Truss Rod and a flatter 9.5-inch fretboard radius. The vintage-style tremolo bridge is also modernised with just two mounting points so that the guitar retains its tuning better. New friction-free steel bridge saddles and a solid steel block add more tone and sustain and the staggered machine heads allow for optimal pressure on the top saddle without the need for a second string guide, so there is less friction and a more stable tuning.

'50s Strat sound with an attitude!

Fender have equipped their American Standard Stratocaster with three Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups, an upgrade that really does justice to the authentic Strat sound. These Alnico 5 single-coils have a vintage sound but with a little more output and bass, without dominant mids - just a full, fat sound that is dead quiet in middle positions thanks to the reverse-wound middle pickup. Additionally, this guitar is equipped with Fender's Delta Tone system, meaning that the tone potentiometer functions as a normal tone control in position 1 - 9, but takes itself out of the circuit in position 10, giving you a more pure and raw sound from the bridge pickup.
