The Sienna Sunburst version of the American Standard Stratocaster is just a little different than the other models of this series. It has an ash, instead of alder, body. Ash is a lightweight type of wood with a marvellous grain and an exceptional balance between clarity and warmth. Sparkling trebles, restrained yet complex mids and strong, tight basses. An ideal combination with the wicked sound produced by the new Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups. This Fender modern classic features a single-piece maple neck that provides just a little more bite than the rosewood version. This guitar comes with a high-tech case, guitar strap, instrument cable and polishing cloth.

American Standard Stratocaster: the modern standard

The American Standard Stratocaster combines the looks and sound of a vintage Strat with a modern guitar's functions and playability. This guitar allows for extremely low action without clattering strings or loss of tones thanks to its modern neck construction with 22 medium jumbo frets, a relatively flat 9.5-inch fretboard radius and the two-way truss rod. The American Standard 2-point tremolo feels more supple and provides an excellent tuning stability. This bridge also features vintage-style bent saddles that reduce friction and the risk of breaking strings on the bridge. The staggered tuners for the D, G, B and E string have been lowered, eliminating the use for a second string guide. The result is less friction, less excessive noise and more tone and sustain.

Armed with first-class Custom Shop pickups

One of the improvements made to the American Standard Stratocaster are the Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups. A set of high-quality alnico 5 single coils you usually only find on the more exclusive Custom Shop guitars. These pickups produce that characteristically clear and vintage Strat sound with just a little more output and bass as well as milder mids. In other words: a wicked, full twang with just the right amount of sparkle. The middle pickup is reverse wound, providing a hum-free sound in pickup switch positions 2 and 4. The bottom tone knob is a no-load potentiometer which means that right before you reach position 10 you'll feel a click and the potentiometer is taken out of the tone circuit. The result is a purer, more raw single-coil sound and an even feistier bridge pickup.
