General

While there are many 3-Color Sunburst Fenders out there, not many of them have an authentic nitrocellulose finish. That's just one of the things that sets this vintage-style Classic Series '60s Stratocaster Lacquer model apart. The smooth alder body is home to a white pickguard that adds a beautiful contrast to the overall appearance. The maple neck features a pau ferro fretboard and there are three vintage-style single-coil pickups that deliver that iconic Strat sound.

Authentic features

The weathered knobs and pickup switch together with the ivory-coloured position dots all help to give this model its authentic '60s look. The neck profile is C-shaped and there are 21 vintage-style frets.The vintage styling continues with the tremolo bridge and the machine heads too. Wrote the following about Fender Classic Series '60s Stratocaster Lacquer 3CSB PF

Deze Fender classic series 60s lacquer speelt en klinkt fantastisch. Regelrecht uit de mooie bijgeleverde tweedkoffer. Alleen even stemmen. Snaarhoogte, intonatie en afstelling tremelo precies goed. De nitro-lak is erg mooi met een prachtige glans. Het is mijn eerste gitaar met een Pau Ferro toets. Het hout is iets lichter van kleur dan Rosewood. Het voelt zelfs iets beter aan dan Rosewood. Aan de wat bolle 7.25 radius ben ik gewend. Ook aan de wat kleinere vintage frets. Persoonlijk vind ik dit heel lekker spelen. (een heel ander gevoel dan narrow tall of Jumbo frets, die vaak aanvoelen als spoorrails). De snaren opdrukken (bending) is geen enkel probleem. Ondanks dat de actie relatief laag is. Nergens een fret-out. Er wordt vaak gezegd dat nitro-lak de gitaarbody laat 'ademen' wat de klank ten goede komt. Of dat zo is weet ik niet, maar deze Fender klinkt wel bijzonder goed en helder. (ik gebruik een kleine Fender buizenversterker). De afwerking van de gitaar is prima. De gitaar lijkt iets lichter te zijn dan de gemiddelde Stratocaster. Een en al 60s uitstraling, ook door de mint groene slagplaat en de getinte, ietwat oranje hals, die ondanks de glanslak aan de achterzijde, bijzonder comfortabel speelt. In vergelijking met mijn twee andere Stratocasters, waaronder ook een USA model, speelt deze gitaar 5 sterren van de hemel. Met dank aan Bax-Shop.
