General
Even the offset upstart has been given the full Player II Series makeover, meaning that the playability and look of this edition of the Fender Mustang comes further refined by some fully up-to-date tweaks. This 24 inch, solid bodied legend retains the same unmistakable body shape, while the maple neck has been given a Modern-C profile and comes finished with a non-stick coat of satin-gloss - all to ease the ride up the fretboard.
The Fender Player II Mustang: Supple Playability + Inspired Sound
The slightly flatter 9.5 inch fretboard radius and set of twenty-two medium-jumbo frets give the playing comfort another boost and, in terms of sound, the solid alder body lays down a strong and resonant tonal foundation. This set-up frames the two mounted single-coils with clarity and definition as well as a tight bottom-end and lush mid-range.
Finely Tuned
Flip the three-way switch to isolate each of the Player Series Alnico V Single-Coil Mustang pickups or combine them before tweaking the result via the single volume and tone pots to find your own signature sound. Since this is a next-gen Player, the bridge has been fixed and kitted out with six adjustable saddles, so you're not just assured of excellent string-to-body vibrational transfer, but accurate intonation and excellent tuning stability - especially when you add on the tasteful set of ClassicGear machine heads.
