As the name suggests, this solid alder-bodied electric guitar features an HSS pickup configuration: a commanding Noiseless™ Strat® humbucker teamed up with two single-coils of the same breed, where you can just flip the push/pull tone pot to coil-split the humbucker for even more tonal options.

The Player Plus Stratocaster HSS: A Modern Experience

Fender have treated the Player Plus Series Strat to a maple neck with a Modern C profile and rounded fretboard edges, resulting in a played-in feel and a modern playing experience whether you're a complete novice or a seasoned session guitarist. On top of that, the 12" fretboard radius is flatter than the standard 9.5" Strat radius, and combines with 22 medium jumbo frets and a slightly-wider-than-average string nut for masses of comfort and playability.

Echt tevreden over mijn aankoop. Heb altijd al een Fender stratocaster willen hebben en was aan het twijfelen of ik voor de player series zou gaan. Gelukkig is de player plus series iets waarin ik mij goed kon vinden qua wensen.

Allereerst, de kleur is supermooi (het was ook de eerste player plus gitaar waar mijn oog op viel) en daardoor beoogt het ook als high quality. De 'color gradient' valt lekker op en geeft het een mooie weergave van wat voor soort gitaar het is.
Ik was zeer onder de indruk van de pickups; Een HSS configuratie, een 5-way-switch toggle en de mogelijkheid van push/pull? Absolutely awesome! De klank opties zijn daarbij heel divers en ik kan met zekerheid zeggen dat ik ook het verschil per piock-up hoor. Het feit dat de humbucker pick-up een push/pull optie heeft is voor mij 'the cherry on top'.
De hals is buttery smooth en de rolled edges dragen daarbij veel aan. Dit is een gitaar waar je letterlijk alles mee kan doen; stevige rhythm of full-on shred, je noemt het, deze gitaar doet het.
De locking tuners zijn daarbij ook een geweldige toepassing voor quality control. Ik kan nu bij geen een van mijn gitaren zonder locking tuners en de fender is geen uitzondering.

Kortom, de fender is een prima gitaar die ik iedereen zou kunnen aanraden. Het enige minpunt is, is dat de pull-functie irritant is om in te schakelen maar dat is één kleine minpuntje.

Zeer blij met deze keuze die ik gemaakt heb, de coil-split geeft meer dimensies aan de klank, alhoewel dat niet iedereen zijn ding zou zijn (sometimes less is more). Ook is de push/pull knop voor de split-coil functie moeilijk te gebruiken door het feit dat het een draaiknop betreft, voor een snelle omschakeling is dit zeker een ongemak, maar gelukkig voor mij zo goed als niet van toepassing. Verder blijft hij mooi in toon door de degelijke locks en de hals voldoet ver boven mijn verwachtingen.

Prijs/kwaliteit is deze gitaar top en moet zeker niet onderdoen van zijn dure Amerikaanse bovenbuur.
