General

In 1982, the Fender Lead III was produced for but one year. This cult hero of a guitar has since become the prize-find on the second hand market and as such, Fender blow off 38 years worth of dust to offer us the Player Series reissue. Like its decade of birth, the Lead III will guarantee nothing but pure style, power and versatility while the compact and snug-feeling body, 25.5-inch scale length and traditional 9.5-inch fretboard radius make this uber-cool guitar a pleasure to play.

The Lead III: Surprising Flexibility

The no-nonsense approach of the two Fender Player Series Alnico 2 humbuckers, next to the fixed bridge with six block-saddles has all the feel of a DIY punk guitar. Combine this with the alder body and you're getting a forceful, shimmering sound, then mess with the 3-way coil-split switch to split the bridge, the neck pickups or both for more clean and detailed tone. Finishing the details of this '80s mythical beast is a set of classic F-logo machine heads.

Fender Player Series Lead III Metallic Purple PF Electric Guitar with Coil-Split

Wrote the following about Fender Player Series Lead III Metallic Purple PF Electric Guitar with Coil-Split
