General

Thanks to its compact body and short scale length of 24 inches, the Fender Mustang is one of the most accessible offset models. This '60s Mustang from Fender's Vintera series has an authentic vintage vibe and is available for a more attractive price than the American Original or Custom Shop models. It has an alder body, a thin C neck profile and a pau ferro fretboard that has a rounded 7.25-inch radius and 22 vintage frets.

Vintera '60s Mustang: authentic sound

The Vintera series follows on from the Classic series and this model now sports Alnico 5 pickups instead of ceramic ones. In this case, both of the vintage-style '60s single-coils have been specially voiced for the Mustang to give you an authentic sound. The master volume, master tone, 3-way pickup switch and two sliders ensure plenty of versatility too. Adding vibrato effects to your playing is easy as well thanks to the vintage-style tremolo bridge.

Geweldige gitaar. Ik bespeelde deze in een andere muziekwinkel en raakte verliefd, maar toen zag ik online dat deze bij Bax op dat moment met een flinke 20% korting te koop was. Ik heb de gok op de som genomen om online een gitaar te bestellen, maar ik kreeg een prachtig afgewerkt en goed afgesteld exemplaar. De gitaar heeft een goeie 'prik door de mix' en een eigenwijs soundje door de shortscale combinatie met de elementen. Wat de gitaar voor mij af maakt is de switches waarmee je veel kunt afwisselen kwa sound en de tremolo - die erg goed in tune blijft - is voor mij ook een dikke plus. Deze gitaar is echt z'n geld waard! En netjes de volgende dag bezorgt met een gigbag erbij.

Prachtige gitaar, voelt goed, klinkt goed, snaren vervangen is iets lastiger dan een strat of andere fenders door het tremelo/vibrato systeem, maar het is wel te doen. De gigbag die erbij komt is mooi als je niks anders hebt, maar hij is best dun en niet echt een vervanging voor een wat duurdere echt stevige gigbag.
