Featuring tightened-up looks and a modernised build that includes a weight-relief mahogany body, the Gibson Les Paul Modern Studio is one mega-refined LP. Based on the regular Les Paul Modern, the Studio edition has an innovative single-cut setup and comes furnished with a deluxe ebony fretboard that brings all the contemporary playability of a compound radius.
The Les Paul Modern Studio: Smooth Fret-Access
The set-in SlimTaper mahogany neck and modern contoured heel combine to offer exceptionally smooth access to the highest frets, and the playing comfort is only further enhanced by the non-stick satin-gloss finish. Add that to the premium black nickel hardware and you've got a first-class Les Paul that not only feels great, but looks great.
From Classic PAF Output to Spice and Warmth
This USA Modern Collection offering owes its flexible sonic output to two Gibson-designed humbuckers. The 498T at the bridge shapes warm, slightly spiced-up Alnico V-style sound, while the 490R at the neck spits that original PAF-flavoured tone. Both pickups have been wax-potted to counter microphonic feedback and come mounted alongside individual push-pull volume and tone pots with built-in coil-tap, phase and bypass functionality for increased tonal versatility. Last but not least, this slick riff machine comes wrapped up in a matching soft-shell case.
