This Ibanez JEMJR (JEM Junior) Steve Vai Signature White is the most affordable guitar from the Ibanez Steve Vai Signature series. In fact, the quality you get at this price can almost be called insane! This guitar is perfect for beginning guitarists or for musicians who have a limited budget.
Ibanez JEMJR Steve Vai Signature: With Monkey Grip
The body of this Signature guitar is made of meranti and features a Monkey Grip, allowing you to easily grab the instrument and put it away when you quit playing. The Wizard III maple neck is fitted with a jatoba fretboard with a Tree of Life inlay, a characteristic feature of Vai guitars. All of the wood types combined make sure you get a warm, full sound with clear mids.
Pickups
This Steve Vai Signature is equipped with Quantum pickups in de traditional HSH-configuration, meaning you can find humbuckers at the neck and the bridge, and a single coil in the middle. This is more than enough for that lovely bite in your guitar sound. The JEMJR also features a Standard DL Double Locking Tremolo system, which is an essential part of a Vai Signature guitar.

Er zat twee keer folie over de slagplaat, waardoor er residu achterblijft onder de volume/tone knop. Het hout van de frets is behoorlijk droog, zo droog dat als je de snaar er overheen drukt je een schrapend geluid hoort. De dikke E snaar lag niet in het gootje bij de bridge. En last but not least, de onderste pick-up stak zo ver uit de gitaar dat de E en A snaar er tegenaan kwamen. Na alles zelf enigszins recht te hebben getrokken, kom ik erachter dat zodra ik de E/A snaar rond de 10/12e fret indruk, er zo gigantisch veel fret buzz is dat hij gelijk doodvalt en er geen geluid uit komt.
Gitaar zelf speelt fantastisch, voelt stevig, maar ik vind het ontzettend teleurstellend dat ik hem letterlijk naar een gitaarspecialist moet brengen om hem überhaupt af te stellen. Fix your shit Ibanez. Lachwekkend voor bijna 500 euro!
