Ibanez' JS2480MCR is one of Joe Satriani's signature models. Other Satriani models have featured a single-coil humbucker instead of a traditional neck humbucker, but this model goes one step further. It has a single-coil Sustainiac Drive pickup in the neck position. In conjunction with the 3-way Sustainiac mode selector switch, you can sustain the fundamental sound, overtones, or a mixture of both. Quite simply, Sustainiac opens up a world of new guitar sounds and effects that are sure to amaze everyone who hears them.

JS2480MCR: versatile

The Sustainiac also functions as a normal neck pickup, of course, giving you the sort of standard sound you'd expect to hear. Via the push/pull tone control, you can switch between the sustainer and pickup modes. In the bridge position, there's a versatile DiMarzio Satchur8 humbucker pickup. Other features include a switchable high-pass filter on the volume control so that you won't lose high frequencies when playing at lower volumes. The JS2480 is also equipped with the classic Ibanez Edge tremolo bridge that allows you to easily adds subtle (and not so subtle) vibrato effects to your playing.

It has a basswood body, maple and bubinga neck, and a rosewood fretboard for a beautifully-balanced sound with plenty of definition, liveliness and warmth.
