The AZ Series from Ibanez is the result of close collaboration with guitarists from around the world and as such, the Japanese made AZ2402 Prestige has been carefully crafted for agility and flexibility. The maple neck and fretboard have both undergone the special Ibanez S-Tech wood-roasted treatment for enhanced durability and stability, while making the wood more moisture and temperature resistant. This has then been finished with oil to add another layer of protection and a familiar, played-in feel. The AZ Oval C-profile sits comfortably in the palm along the entire length of the neck while 24 highly durable, stainless-steel jumbo frets only add to the playing comfort.

The AZ2402: Effortless Playability

The contoured alder body is yet another feature that makes this guitar a joy to play. The T1802 synchronised tremolo bridge was developed in collaboration with Gotoh who also made the machine heads. The robust bridge allows you to easily add vibrato and divebomb effects to your playing and, in combination with the Magnum Lock machine heads, optimal tuning stability is assured as well. It's even possible to adjust the height of the string posts so that each string can have optimal tension.

Seymour Duncan Hyperion and dyna-MIX10

Ibanez worked together with Seymour Duncan to develop the medium-gain Hyperion humbucker pickups that give you a warm, full, Alnico-5 sound with a clear attack and without any loss of clarity even when using distortion. The AZ2402 also has Ibanez' dyna-MIX 10 switching system that features an Alter switch giving you no fewer than 10 different sounds! We told you this guitar was designed to be versatile.
