General

Specifically designed to handle drop-tunings, the Ibanez RGD61 might actually be the ultimate metal-guitar. The 26.5 inch scale length and the slim, flat and fast-feeling Wizard III profile of the roasted maple neck combine to guarantee gymnastic levels of playability. The deluxe Macassar ebony fretboard, meanwhile, helps tighten up the bass response and pack the trebles with a strong attack while backing everything up with rich sustain, and has been decked out with twenty-four jumbo frets, boosting the note-range slightly beyond the average. The extra deep cutouts give your fret-hand smooth passage to the highest frets and, so you're assured of a warm and balanced foundation reinforced by a solid low-mid punch, the body has been hewn from solid nyatoh.

The Ibanez RGD61: Modern Flexibility

Piling on the adaptability, Ibanez has loaded this edition of the RGD with two Fishman Fluence Modern Ceramic Humbuckers that spit tight and fierce, modern sound, wiped clean of any unwelcome noise. Via the push-pull volume pot, you can easily switch between a progressive, active pickup voicing and a more sparkling, clean passive voicing at will, kitting you out with everything you need to swing between scorching riff work and more subtle melodics. Supporting it all, the innovative Mono Rail bridge takes care of high-precision string-separation, resulting in expert stability and masses of sustain.

The Solid Playing Partner

The full pack of Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads also boost the tuning stability and speed up string-changes, all in one shot and, since the RGD61 is factory-tuned down by two whole notes to D, G, C, F, A, D, you're getting deep and heavy, ground-shaking sound right out the box. Extra details set up this guitar to serve in any and all circumstances, including the welcome inclusion of a set of Luminescent side dots, giving your fret-hand a clear guide, no matter how dark things get.
