The S series by Ibanez, also known as Saber, was released in the late 1980s and its guitars have a distinctive streamlined, mahogany body and maple neck. Since 2008, the S series has a fretboard with 24 frets, which you can also see on this S870FM-ATF. This solid-body guitar is a modern variation on the popular S-guitar and has a great-sounding mahogany body fitted with a flamed maple top.

The Wizard III-neck on this guitar is made of three parts of maple. The fretboard is made of rosewood and has white offset position markers. The pickups of this Ibanez Saber are in HSH configuration: at the bridge you can find an INF humbucker, there's an INF single coil in the middle and another INF humbucker at the neck. A five-position switch takes care of the pickup combinations and the volume and tone knobs allow for a better control of the pickups.
Edge Zero II
The Edge Zero II on the S870FM-ATF is a double-locking tremolo bridge. This Floyd Rose-style bridge is highly stable and has already demonstrated what it's worth on previous Ibanez hits. The string nut is a locking nut that makes sure the guitar will always be perfectly tuned, no matter how often you use the tremolo arm. The hardware, as well as the headstock of this model, has a Cosmo Black colour. All in all, this is a truly great-looking all-round Ibanez, made of durable materials.
