General

Are you looking for your first guitar and are you interested in rock and metal? You should definitely consider a Jackson guitar. This JS12 Metallic Red is an excellent choice for beginners on a budget who want to take their first steps towards playing power chords and super-fast leads. Thanks to the 24 frets of this Jackson Dinky, you can play just a bit higher than on an average beginner guitar and with the Fulcrum tremolo you can bend your sounds to an entirely different pitch.

Jackson JS12 Dinky Metallic Red: harmoniously warm and powerful

This JS12 Dinky delivers a balanced, warm sound that can be amplified in a modern way, all thanks to the combination of wood types and pickups. The basswood body with a maple neck and amaranth fretboard produce a sound that is amplified by two Jackson high-output humbuckers with ceramic magnets. You can further fine-tune that prominent core sound by means of a three-position pickup switch and two potentiometers for volume and tone.

Pros:

A very nice design provides really good sound and attractive look.

The pickups are a copy of Seymour Duncan ones and gives warm and rich sound.

Good materials and light weight body.

Cons:

A not very well designed head provides high E and B strings from high angles. It creates high tension on a nut and require a string retainer or a locking nut.

A double-locking is very basic. It was pulling my strings off the neck and required repositioning in the cavity.

Summary:

It is a lovely instrument because of its weight, great sound and reasonable price. My one required a few fixes.
