Traditionally, low and mid tones are important for a Jackson as you need them for shredding. The basswood body greatly facilitates that and great deal of thought has been put in the other wood types as well. As such, the neck is made of maple to provide sparkly, clear trebles and a long sustain. The fretboard (as with many guitars) is made of rosewood which is ideal for a rich and warm sound. Rosewood also has some oily characteristics which makes it a lot more comfortable to slide along the entire fretboard.
Tremolo and pickups
A flexible tremolo is very helpful if you want to play intense leads with pitch bends and vibratos. The Floyd Rose Special is a very practical tremolo bridge as it allows you to raise or lower the pitch so you can do the wildest things. A special clamp in the string nut will keep the strings in tune for a longer period of time. You'll play a perfectly tuned guitar for days, weeks, months even. The guitar is equipped with two EMG humbucker pickups, one at the bridge and one at the neck. You can switch to a bridge, bridge-neck or neck configuration for the perfect power chords and leads.
