General
Ormsby's Hype GTR 6 is a surprisingly versatile electric guitar with a swamp ash body and powerful humbuckers. One of the first things you'll notice about this model is its fanned frets. It has a scale length that measures 25.5 inches at the highest string and 27.5 inches at the lowest. This means that the lower strings have more tension for an improved sound, even when you use lower tunings. All in all, this multiscale model is a joy to play and comes complete with a custom hard case.
Hype GTR 6: wood type and sound
The body of the Ormsby Hype GTR 6 is made of 38mm-thick swamp ash, which is a little thinner than the industry standard of 47 mm. Naturally, this means it's lighter than many other models, making it more comfortable when you play for long periods of time. Ash is known for its bright sound and excellent resonance. The GTR 6 is equipped powerful Nunchucker and De La Creme humbucker pickups that deliver tight bass and a scooped midrange making this model a great choice for rock and metal guitarists.
An eye for detail
It's easy to see that Ormsby have put a great deal of thought into the design of the Hype GTR 6. The headstock is particularly eye-catching and has Hipshot locking machine heads. The bridge is also made by Hipshot. Other notable features include 24 stainless steel frets, a dark ebony fretboard and Luminlay side dots. For improved playability and sustain, there's a set-in neck with a rounded heel. All of these features combine to make a highly stable multiscale instrument that is a joy to play and hear.
