General
The Squier Affinity Stratocaster HSS (rosewood, Lake Placid Blue) is the affordable but solid Fat Strat version by Fender affiliate Squier. 'Fat' refers to the fat and varied sound of the HSS pickup configuration, consisting of a Humbucker and two single-coil pickups that, together with the tremolo bridge (for subtle vibrato effects), makes the Affinity Strat HSS a guitar with a wide array of sounds. This model has a dark rosewood fretboard and beautiful Lake Placid Blue finish.
The Squier brand
The Stratocaster and Telecaster electric guitars and Precision bass guitars are Fender's best known models and have been copied by many. Fender wanted to be able to provide their own reliable and attractive alternative and started a subsidiary in 1982: Squier. Squier guitars and bass guitars are built according to specifications made by, and under supervision of Fender.
