General
The Squier Vintage Modified Surf Stratocaster electric guitar is comparable to the regular Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster. It has a Strat body with a vintage-tinted neck, vintage-style synchronised tremolo and three single-coil pickups that produce a clear sound. Additionally, this guitar has the looks of a genuine early sixties Fender: a bright-red body with a pearloid pickguard and, of course, the characteristic tube-shaped Lipstick pickups!
A '60s Strat
Not long after they introduced the famous Telecaster, Fender issued the Stratocaster. This guitar had a more comfortable body, a third pickup and was equipped with a tremolo bridge to enable easy vibrato effects. This versatile instrument is suited for a wide range of music styles. The Vintage Modified Surf Strat is an affordable Fender model for the serious beginning guitarist, that brings the surf-music era to mind.
The Squier brand
The Precision and Jazz electric bass guitars and the Stratocaster and Telecaster electric guitars are the most famous Fender models. Many manufacturers have tried to imitate them, in various price ranges. In order to be able to provide a reliable and attractive alternative for beginners themselves, Fender started their subsidiary Squier in 1982. Squier guitars and bass guitars are built according to specifications by, and under supervision of, Fender.
