The Fender Highway Parlor: The New Way

Most electro-acoustic models will come with a piezo pickup fitted beneath the bridge, which is the point at which the strings vibrate the least, resulting in amplified that isn't always the best. In collaboration with Fishman, Fender have solved this problem with an exclusive Fishman Fluence pickup, specially developed for the series. This pickup sits next to the soundhole and captures the point where the strings vibrate the most, which essentially translates into full sound packed with full-definition dynamics. Other special details include the Contour control pot, which can be dialled up to bring in the full frequency spectrum, warming up the sound to accompany vocals. Or it can be twisted the other way to pull back the basses, enhance the mid-range and set up the sound for playing with a full band. Another nice bonus is the non-existent feedback. You can literally hold this guitar in front of the speaker and nothing will happen.

Bearing meticulous design details from every angle, the Fender Highway Parlor offers finger-picking guitarists maximum comfort, while the lightweight and slimline body will definitely please guitarists seeking something more manageable than a full-sized dreadnought. The 24.75 inch scale shortens the distance between the Graph Tech TUSQ nut and Modern Viking bridge, reducing the string tension, which combines with the pre-installed set of .011-gauged strings to ease the load on the fret hand. The body of this model is also just 57mm thick, while smooth contours ease the feel beneath the forearm and a belly cut gives this instrument its immediately snug and controlled feel.
