British guitar virtuoso Jon Gromm and Ibanez have teamed up to develop the very special and future-focussed JGM5 signature electro-acoustic guitar. The ultra-modern vibe of this model starts with the satin-gloss finish of the soundboard and the contrasting high-gloss finish of the rest of the body parts that make up the incredibly comfortable, lightly offset shape of this jumbo guitar. This alternative construction doesn't just boost the style and enhance the playability, but lays down an extra-full acoustic sound.

The Ibanez JGM5 Electro-Acoustic: Thermo-Aged Sitka Spruce, Pau Ferro & Mascassar Ebony

The soundboard is a solid slice of Sitka spruce that's undergone Ibanez's own Thermo-Aged treatment to strengthen and stabilise the wood, making it far less sensitive to extreme temperatures and humidity levels. Combined with the modified and thermo-aged X-M bracing, this model has the voice of a vintage classic twice it's age, so you can expect a lush and mature natural tone. The pau ferro back and sides as well as the Macassar ebony fretboard add some welcome shimmer and sparkle to the overall sound and fully prep this instrument for more percussive playing techniques, while the stability of the soundboard is carried through to the ultra-reliable five-piece African mahogany and pau ferro neck.

High-Grade Amplification Courtesy of Fishman and a Tap Pickup

To ensure that the full complexity of Gromm's intricate tapping techniques are amplified with natural clarity, the JGM5 has been fitted with a Fishman PowerTap Earth Blend preamp, a Rare Earth Mic Blend active soundhole pickup, and a Tap pickup. Strike the perfect balance between the two pickups then send the result out to the PA or your acoustic amplifier via either the discreet, flush-mounted mono output or stereo output as preferred. To finish, the ebony top-loader bridge makes string changes as smooth and easy as it gets. This stunningly designed model comes complete with a deluxe gig bag.
