Yamaha's LS series features a number of strong, luxuriously finished electro-acoustic guitars, including the LS16 ARE with this natural finish. This western guitar is made of all solid wood, and features an Engelmann spruce top, hand-picked to give this instrument optimal sound. The sides and back are made of solid rosewood which, in combination with the spruce top, add a fresh, open sound to the mix. The LS16 ARE is completely in its element in pop bands and delivers an overall balanced, sparkling sound.
Instruments fresh from the manufacturer need time to let the wood settle before they reach their prime; the older the wood, the better it resonates. With Yamaha's Acoustic Resonance Enhancement though, you get a vintage sound right out of the box. This technique carefully adjusts the temperature, moisture and air pressure of the wood in order to rearrange its molecular makeup, whereby the Engelmann top comes to you with optimal acoustic resonance. Additionally, the improved internal bracing of the body offers extra-supple lows that won't drown out those articulate high notes.
The LS16 ARE is something for every passionate guitarist to lust after. The improved slim neck (5-part rosewood/mahogany) is incredibly comfortable and was designed for optimal playing along the entire length. Ebony was used for the fretboard for added comfort and a tight sound. Additionally, the string distance and height were carefully chosen to offer traditional finger-style guitarists a balanced playing feel.
