The complete and conveniently slimline Roland TD-07KV kit gives you a whole lot of electronic-beat-bashing for your hard-earned cash. Part of the renowned V-Drums Series, this compact and relatively affordable kit provides the kind of playing feel you'd usually have to re-mortgage a house for. This is partly down to the incredibly realistic rebound response of the set of high-grade, dual-ply mesh-heads fitted to the snare and toms, which also have the additional advantage of making very little noise. The dual-trigger snare can be set up to trigger the sound of a rim click or rim shot when you actually strike the rim, while the mesh-head still sounds like a snare, and the kick pad provides a genuine kick-like feel while minimising vibrations (i.e. noise). The module of this thoughtful electronic kit is also Bluetooth capable so you can stream tracks from your phone and play along, and using the Roland Melodics app, you can fully hone your skills under the expert guidance of a 'personal music tutor'.
The Roland TD-07KV V-Drums Electronic Drum Kit
Building on the giant V-Drums reputation, the TD-07KV kit is home to a potent sound module. Essentially the brain, this smart module does much more than just spit static and cold sounding acoustic drum samples. Roland have taken things a fair way forward by loading in nothing but high-grade samples to build more than 20 outstanding pre-configured kits and percussion set-ups, with space to build your very own custom kits and save them as presets. Using the module, various samples can be combined in one kit and the samples can be digitally tuned and edited using tools including an equaliser and a tight bank of effects and shape your perfect virtual kit. This module can even be directly connected to a computer to record via MIDI to your DAW of choice.
The Roland V-Drums: Near-Silent Drumming
One of the biggest and most obvious bonuses of an electronic drum kit is that it makes way less noise than an acoustic kit. However, there are still a few electronic kits that are just as noisy, meaning that every drum pad bonk and kick pad bam can be heard loud and clear next door. With this salient point in mind, Roland have designed the V-Drums to perform as silently as possible. The mesh-heads minimise vibrations while retaining an authentic playing feel, while the kick pad has been finished with specially developed damping that compromises none of the response. Even the rack has been designed so that it transfers as little resonance through the floor or walls as possible. Besides all of that, Roland also offer some extra add-ons if you need your kit to be even quieter, including a set of Noise Eaters that are placed beneath the pedals to dampen them further. Of course, laying a drum mat under your kit also works wonders.

Excellente batterie électronique pour des batteurs en herbe comme moi. Comparée à une ALESIS Command Mesh Kit dont je viens de me séparer:
Les + :
- Cymbales Ride et Crash de 12”( 10” avec la Command Mesh) avec 3 zones bien distinctes de frappe,
- Caisse claire de 10” avec cross-stick (le cross stick n’est pas disponible sur l’ALESIS). Vive la bossa nova avec Roland!
- Charleston HiHat) incroyablement plus précise que celle de l’ALESIS,
- Grosse caisse (Kick drum) très bien encrée dans un tapis et qui ne se déplace pas .
- Boîtier de commande et paramétrage plus convivial.
- Meilleure précision de réponse aux frappes sur les différents pads et cymbales,
- Ensemble beaucoup plus stable. Pas besoin de resserrer les molettes de fixation des différents pads et de les repositionner, notamment la caisse claire et le kick drum après quelques heures d’utilisation
- Bluetooth (pas indispensable)
Ce que je regrette (les -)
- Absence de rimshot sur les toms, ce qui prive de pouvoir émuler des percussions mineures telles que cloches, etc …
- Absence de sortie ligne séparée de la sortie casque (mais la sortie audio USB est excellente).
- la non fourniture d’une pédale de grosse caisse (mais une TD-100A, certes assez chère, est parfaitement adaptée au pad de grosse caisse, et forme un ensemble cohérent et stable)
- Nombre plus réduit de presets de batteries (mais l’essentiel et de pouvoir définir son propre kit, et les paramètres sont très clairement expliqués).
- plus chère (mais le rapport qualité/prix?)
En conclusion, je suis vraiment très satisfait de cet achat, cette batterie est vraiment très agréable à jouer,
Le son me convient parfaitement, les sensations sont plus proches de celles ressenties avec une batterie acoustique. Si j’avais plus d’espace chez moi, j’aurais sans doute opté pour une série TD-17… plus tard peut-être.
Ceci n’enlève rien aux qualités d’une ALESIS Command Mesh Kit, le modèle Spécial Edition lui ressemblant comme deux gouttes d’eau.
Ce qui m’a fait basculer ma préférence vers Roland est avant tout le service après-vente. Roland semble mieux implanté en Europe et en France qu’Alexis, du moins je l’espère.
Service après-vente très laborieux chez ALESIS.. Absence ou manque de représentants en France et en Europe pour les réparations ou la garantie. A titre d’exemple, je viens de retourner ma batterie ALESIS contre remboursement au titre de la garantie Vendeur (et non celle d’ALESIS avec qui j’ai eu d’énorme difficultés à communiquer) pour une simple prise jack du l’unité de commande qui présentait un mauvais contact. Quasiment impossible de la faire réparer ou de faire un échange standard auprès d’un réparateur agréé (en existe-t-il vraiment?).
