General
The Stylophone BeatBox is quite an unusual instrument. Is it a synthesizer? A sampler? A drum pad maybe? Well, the Stylophone Beatbox is related to the well-known Stylophone, an analogue synthesizer from the '60s. This Beatbox is based on the more recent Gen-2 Stylophone, but still shares many characteristics with the classic model - you still play it with an included stylus, and it features a metal trigger surface that is divided into various zones. The sound is reproduced by a built-in speaker, or sent to a headphone output. The Beatbox is powered by 3 (separately available) AA batteries.
Stylophone Beatbox: sounds and Record/Loop
The Stylophone Beatbox has three distinct sounds. First off, a drum kit for electronic percussion sounds. Secondly, there is a BeatBox set, with samples by beatboxer MC Zani. And finally there is a Bass sound, so that you can also play bass parts with your Stylophone. A surprising addition is the Record/Loop function, that allows you to loop short beats or bass lines. The Stylophone Beatbox is the perfect accessory for a Stylophone S1, but it's a great instrument on it's own as well. It's certainly more than a gimmick. Add a unique twist to your live performance with this retro machine.
